Classified documents obtained by WikIran unveil the hidden secrets of Sepehr Energy Jahan, a multi-billion dollars company linked to the Iranian military.

The Iranian regime is selling sanctioned commodities, including crude oil, through a network of trading arms and front companies in Iran and abroad. One of those companies, working directly for the Iranian Armed Forces General Staff (AFGS) is Sepehr Energy Jahan (SEJ). The company found itself in the global spotlight after being designated by the US Department of Treasury in November 2023, and again in February 2025 as one of the initial actions of the renewed Maximum Pressure Campaign. Despite the heightened attention, many of SEJ's secrets remained undisclosed.

WikIran reveals the internal correspondence and classified documents of this mysterious company, the trading arm that facilitated the shipments of Iranian oil and gas worth hundreds of millions of US dollars on behalf of the Iranian AFGS.

Sepehr Energy Janan is not a single entity but rather a network of companies with intertwined and undeniable connections, as evident in the Iranian company registry. On paper, Sepehr Energy Jahan (SEJ) appears to be a standalone company, while Sepehr Energy Jahan Nama Pars (SEJNP) is the parent company of three subsidiaries: Sepehr Enery Paya Gostar Jahan (SEPGJ), Sepehr Energy Hamta Pars (SEHP) and Sepehr Energy Jahan Nama Taban (SEJNT). However, a closer examination reveals that each company is registered under a similar name, shares the same address in an office building on Shahid Beheshti street in Tehran, and employing the same individuals.

The leaked materials indicate that certain individuals hold more prominent roles within Sepehr Energy's operations. Majid Azami and Elyas Niroomand Toomaj appear to be the core of this network, frequently mentioned in the companies' contracts and documents. They seem to maintain key relationships with the company's clients and prospects, often utilizing their personal email addresses. While Majid is often referred to as CEO, Elyas is in charge of the commercial department, but also mentioned in some documents as its attorney. The company's communication methods are unusual, with multiple domains with username conventions, as well as the mixing of personal and commercials email addresses.

Sepehr Energy Jahan Nama Pars, the primary company within the SEJ network, along with Majid Azami and Elyas Niroomand Toomaj, was designated in November 2023 for their ties to the AFGS, MODAFL and NITC (National Tanker Company, a subsidiary of NIOC, National Iranian Oil Company, both designated entities). In February 2025, the US Treasury continued its actions by designating the remaining Iranian companies in the network, as well as several high-profile employees, including Farshad Ghazi, Farbod Mohseni Ahari and Mohammad Ali Riazi Kolahdoz-Mahaleh.

Another notable individual designated alongside the SEJ network is Jamshid Eshaghi, a Brigadier General in the AFGS, who held the position of Chief of the AFGS Office of Budget and Financial Affairs. As can be seen below, in some SEJ materials, Eshaghi is described as the head of the Oil and Petrochemical Command of the AFGS. According to the Iranian companies' registry, he also serves as an inspector in the board of director of SEJNP.
